What a Donation to the Machestic Dragons Means…

A donation to the Machestic Dragons, a volunteer-driven 501 (c)3 nonprofit, is a unique way to contribute to the fight against breast cancer. This nonprofit was established by and for breast cancer survivors who need to rebound physically and emotionally.

The paddling experience impacts the breast cancer survivor by helping to rebuild a body that has been physically weakened. The special camaraderie, enjoyment of the healthy exercise out on the water, and the supportive environment with those who have shared and understand the devastating impact of breast cancer can be exhilarating, especially during the recovery process, and helps to revitalize self-esteem and a sense of control in daily life.

Donations to the Machestic Dragons help to support the organization’s administrative operation, the purchase of new equipment, the costs of maintaining existing equipment, and underwriting the cost of the Machestic Dragons unique programs and team activities. In addition, the Machestic Dragons is a team player and partners with other nonprofits serving the breast cancer community in other ways. In that regard, the Machestics donate some of its proceeds to the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) in Princeton and to the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. BCRC offers counseling, support, special programs and a boutique that helps guide the patient/survivor through treatment and beyond. The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey offers diagnostic and treatment services, but the Machestics donation is specifically directed toward breast cancer research and clinical trials.

So, a donation to the Machestic Dragons has a wide-ranging and complete complement of services to the breast cancer community. And, of course, a donation to the Machestic Dragons is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
